The course
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Golf Club occupies a broad valley below the peaks near Lijiang. Neil Haworth designed its 18-hole, par-72 course, which opened in 2001. The front and back nines move through different parts of the mountain landscape.
The longest carded layout stretches to 8,548 yards, yet thinner air can carry shots farther than at lower elevations. Compare all four tee sets before choosing your round: Red begins at 5,845 yards, while White is 6,870.

Guinness World Records lists the 8,548-yard Record-tee layout as the longest golf course and identifies the 711-yard, par-five fifth as its longest hole. These are measured distances; they do not predict how far each shot will play.
The other tee sets offer shorter choices for the same par-72 routing. At this elevation, tee selection and the day’s weather deserve as much attention as the headline number.

Inside the round
From the record fifth to the long finish, these four holes show the range of tee shots and mountain views.
The 711-yard fifth is the course’s longest hole from the Record tees. It descends and bends right, with bunkers asking for a measured route over several shots. The Blue and White tees shorten it to 663 and 585 yards.
A par 3 of 267 yards from the Record tee, 221 from Blue and 185 from White. An archival account shows water along the right of the approach; check its current edge and pin position before choosing a club.
The twelfth faces the main mountain wall. Its listed distances are 260 yards from Record, 224 from Blue and 183 from White, with the green and peaks giving this short hole a striking backdrop.
The closing par 5 reaches 695 yards from Record, 627 from Blue and 555 from White. An archival photograph shows bunkers by the raised green, with the clubhouse beyond.

Plan the journey
Allow roughly 45–60 minutes by road from central Lijiang, depending on your pickup point, traffic and the access route. Arrange a return transfer when booking, or use your own driver. Confirm the clubhouse entrance and any scenic-area vehicle or ticket arrangements.
Bring golf shoes, sun protection and a warm layer. Club rental can be requested in advance. A driving range and restaurants are listed; leave time to warm up and settle in at the high elevation.
Weather on the mountain can differ sharply from Lijiang town. Check a local forecast before departure, carry a light rain layer, drink water and choose tees that suit your group.
For your driver
Show the Chinese name to your driver. Confirm the golf clubhouse entrance rather than a scenic-area sightseeing drop-off.
Indicative base rates start at RMB 1,280 per golfer and rise to RMB 1,880 in July and August; weekends add RMB 200.
