The course

Mountain golf above Yangzong Lake

OCT Yunhai Valley’s Mountain View Course sits on the north shore of Yangzong Lake in Yiliang, near Kunming. It is a distinct 18-hole, par-72 course, separate from the closed OCT Lake Course and from Spring City nearby.

The course opened in 1998 and reopened in 2023. Six holes stand out in two memorable runs: 6–8 on the front nine and 13–15 on the back nine.

Plan the journey

Visiting from Kunming

Getting here

Allow about an hour by road from central Kunming to the resort on the north shore of Yangzong Lake; traffic and your starting point can change the journey. We can arrange a private return transfer at extra cost, or you can travel independently.

Before you tee off

Bring golf shoes, a hat, sunscreen and a light layer. There is no driving range, so leave time for the short-game practice area and separate putting green. Carts are allowed on the fairways, with no single-rider surcharge. Club hire can be requested in advance.

Weather and conditions

The highland sun can be strong, even when it feels cool. May to October brings more showers, often brief but sometimes heavy; a light rain jacket is useful. Check the forecast and allow flexibility around your tee time.

Use Qunyinghui Holiday Hotel as the navigation destination. The Mountain Course starter’s hut is at this location; show the Chinese hotel name to your driver.

Yangzong Lake sits at approximately 1,770 m above sea level; that is the lake elevation, not a measured elevation for every hole on this hillside course.
